The Agile Fox Friday Foto

After a year and a half of including a ‘pic of the week’ at the end of my weekly training summary, I’ve decided to move it to a separate post.  This will free me up to post more pictures along with my training entries (it never made much sense to post pictures from some of my runs, and then include a picture of the week on top of that).  I’m also implementing a rule that the Friday Foto needs to have been taken sometime in the last week.  No recycling.  I’m hoping this will keep me engaged in building my photography skills and help me to work harder for good shots.

Today’s picture isn’t anything that required much skill, but I like the way it turned out.  It shouts Springtime!!  I took this on an Easter morning walk.  It’ll serve as a nice desktop wallpaper for the next week or two if you would like to download the hi-res version.

I was completely zoomed in with my 18-55, the tree was high above my head. I probably could have dropped the ISO and the shutter speed a little. The aperature was wide open at that length (not a very fast lens). The wind was blowing the branches around quite a bit so I tried to time the shot for when they were relaxed between surges.

  1. Nice photo. Man, the colors are deep. Today I switched to my “lesser” camera, my Canon Elph (as opposed to the S95) and I got the photos home and thought “Jeez, where’s the color?” Better sensors just capture better data all around.
