2008 Castle Rock Trot 5k

Natalie's excellent Magna-Doodle art.
We made it to the local Turkey Trot for the second year in a row. It was slightly warmer this year (30 degrees) and no ice on the course. Everyone had a great time. Malcolm ran on ahead, I pushed Jessica in the stroller alongside Lindsey, and Mom and Natalie stuck together.
There were people, kids, dogs, strollers, wagons, you name it. A very low-key ‘race’ and a perfect way to get ready for the big feast later. The proceeds from the event go to a food bank, and they also take in lot of food donations so it is all for a good cause.

And we're off!
This year the race site was moved to the county fairgrounds. It made for a much nicer parking and registration arrangement. The kids enjoyed muffins and juice before the race, and they also spotted clues along the course to solve a word puzzle and get a sticker afterwards.

Say turkey!

Jessica spotted her dream car, a pink/purple 'slug-bug'.
Now we all have a 2nd round of matching shirts, and have started a great Thanksgiving Day tradition for our family. Gobble, gobble!
