Recovery

I pretty much took last week completely off from any physical activity. The swelling in my foot has vanished. I’ve posted enough pictures of my feet, so here’s a link if you want to see the before/after shot. Beware the ugly toes…

Saturday was nice, so we loaded up the kids and headed for the hills to do some geocaching. We got one because of the hint, but were about 150′ off according to the GPS. I need to do some calibration or something, it always seems like it’s way off. Oh, well. It was a fun activity. Elizabeth spotted a huge pine tree that had branches all the way to the ground and was open on the inside. The kids loved that!

I had Monday off work, so Jessica and I went out and bought a belt to go with my new Bear 100 buckle. Don’t know if I’ll ever wear it, but now I can if I want to! Then we got lunch and took it to the park for a picnic. I had a great time with her, she’s always cracking us up.

Jessica – no attitude whatsoever…

I rode my bike 22 miles yesterday, and ran 7 today. Things are good considering I was barely able to walk 10 days ago. I love the feeling after doing a big event. Completely shattered after the finish, then getting progressively stronger day by day as the recovery kicks in. Hopefully propelling you to a higher plane than what you started on.

I’ll probably take it fairly easy for another 10 days or so before getting back into a formal training schedule. Time to decide what target to shoot for next!
